The term RUBBISH DUMP is composed of two words, SCRAPHEAP and TIP. A scrapheap is a large pile of discarded materials such as metal, paper, or plastic that has been collected for recycling or disposal. A TIP, on the other hand, is a place where waste materials are disposed of, usually in an open area. Rubbish dumps are often found in rural areas and are used to dispose of all kinds of waste materials. They are also known as landfills or dumpsites.
