Rotating neutron stars, also known as pulsars, are rapidly spinning neutron stars that emit beams of electromagnetic radiation. These beams are only visible when they are pointed towards Earth, making them appear to pulse on and off. Pulsars are formed when a massive star collapses and its core is compressed into a small, dense object. The intense gravity of the neutron star causes it to spin rapidly, emitting powerful beams of radiation.
