Ilie Nastase is a Romanian tennis great who was active in the 1970s. He won two Grand Slam singles titles, three Grand Slam doubles titles, and four Grand Slam mixed doubles titles. He was ranked world No. 1 for a total of eight weeks in 1973. He was also the first male player to win more than $1 million in prize money. Nastase was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1991.
