Georges Enescu was a Romanian composer, violinist, pianist, conductor, and teacher. He is considered one of the greatest composers of the 20th century and is widely regarded as Romania's most important musician. He was born in 1881 in Romania and studied at the Vienna Conservatory and the Paris Conservatory. He composed numerous works for orchestra, chamber music, piano, and opera. He also wrote several books on music theory and composition. He died in 1955 in Paris.
