The CONGO River is a major river in Central Africa, flowing through the Democratic Republic of the CONGO and the Republic of the CONGO. It is the second longest river in Africa and the world's deepest river with measured depths in excess of 220 m (720 ft). The CONGO River is the world's second largest river by discharge volume, and the world's second largest river system by length. It is also the world's third largest river by volume of water discharged, and it has an overall length of 4, 700 km (2, 920 mi).
