The AVON is a river that joins the Severn in England. It is also known as the River AVON and is approximately 220 miles long. It rises in the Cotswolds and flows through Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire before joining the Severn Estuary near Bristol. The AVON has been an important waterway since ancient times and is now used for leisure activities such as fishing, boating and canoeing.
