Richard Gere is an American actor, producer, and humanitarian. He is best known for his roles in films such as Pretty Woman, An Officer and a Gentleman, and Chicago, for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Gere is also known for his activism, particularly in the area of human rights. He is the founder of the International Campaign for Tibet and has been involved in numerous other charitable causes.
