The term 'Revenge of the ___' is a reference to two popular franchises. The first is 'Revenge of the NERDS', a 1984 comedy film about a group of socially-awkward college students who form a fraternity to stand up to the school's bullies. The second is 'Revenge of the Sith', the third installment in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, released in 2005. In this film, Anakin Skywalker turns to the dark side and becomes Darth Vader.
