The Republic of Haiti is a Caribbean nation located on the western part of the island of Hispaniola. It is the most populous country in the Caribbean and the second-most populous country in the Americas after the United States. Haiti is a founding member of the United Nations, Organization of American States, and the Caribbean Community. It is also a member of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and World Trade Organization. The official language of Haiti is French, although many Haitians also speak Haitian Creole.
