Remus is a character from Roman mythology, the twin brother of Romulus. He was the son of Mars, the god of war, and Rhea Silvia, a Vestal Virgin. He and his brother were abandoned as infants in the Tiber River, but were rescued by a shepherd and his wife. Remus was later killed by his brother, who went on to found the city of Rome. The term 'UNCLE' is used to refer to a male relative who is not a parent or sibling, such as an aunt's husband.
