Rob Reiner is an American actor, director, producer, and writer best known for his role as Michael 'MEATHEAD' Stivic in the 1970s sitcom All in the Family. He also directed the classic films Stand by Me, When Harry Met Sally, and A Few Good Men. Reiner has been credited with helping to revive the sitcom genre in the 1990s with his creation of The Cosby Show spin-off, The Golden Girls. He is also a prominent political activist, having founded the American Foundation for Equal Rights in 2008.
