Tonga is a Pacific Island kingdom located in the South Pacific Ocean, east of Fiji and south of Samoa. It is an archipelago of over 170 islands, 36 of which are inhabited. The Kingdom of Tonga is the only remaining monarchy in the Pacific Islands and has been ruled by the same royal family since 1845.
