Pablo Neruda, for one, is a Chilean POET-diplomat and Nobel Prize winner. He was born Ricardo Eliecer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto in 1904 and adopted the pen name of Pablo Neruda in 1923. He wrote in a variety of styles, including surrealist poems, historical epics, overtly political manifestos, a prose autobiography, and passionate love poems. His work has been translated into many languages and he is considered one of the greatest and most influential poets of the 20th century.
