Outlaw James is a reference to the famous American outlaw Jesse James. Jesse James was born in 1847 and was a notorious criminal who robbed banks, trains, and stagecoaches throughout the American Midwest during the late 19th century. He was a member of the James-Younger gang and was killed in 1882 by Robert Ford, a member of his own gang.
