He is also known for his philanthropic work, having founded the Oscar de la Hoya Foundation which helps underprivileged children. Oscar de la Renta was a Dominican-American fashion designer who was one of the most renowned couturiers in the world. He was best known for his evening gowns and cocktail dresses, and was also a favorite of many celebrities.
