Yoko Ono is a Japanese multimedia artist, singer, songwriter, and peace activist who was born in Tokyo in 1933. She is best known for her work in avant-garde art, music, and filmmaking, as well as her marriage to John Lennon of the Beatles. Her work has been exhibited in galleries around the world and she has released several albums. She is also an advocate for world peace and has been involved in numerous humanitarian causes.
