Lorena Bobbitt is one of the Bobbitts, a couple who gained notoriety in the early 1990s after Lorena cut off her husband's penis with a kitchen knife. Lorena was born in Ecuador and moved to the United States when she was 18. She married John Wayne Bobbitt in 1989, and the couple had a tumultuous relationship. In 1993, Lorena cut off her husband's penis while he was sleeping and drove away with it. She was later found not guilty by reason of temporary insanity.
