Old Spanish coins were a form of currency used in Spain and its colonies from the 16th century to the early 19th century. The coins included Reales (6 letters), Pistoles (8 letters), Pesetas (7 letters), Reals (5 letters) and PESOS (5 letters). Reales were the largest denomination of coins, followed by Pistoles, Pesetas, Reals and PESOS. All of these coins were made of gold or silver and were used as a form of payment throughout the Spanish Empire.
