Old Anesthetic is a term used to describe two substances that were commonly used in the past as anesthetics. COCAINE (7 letters) and ETHER (5 letters) were both used to numb pain and induce unconsciousness during medical procedures. COCAINE was first isolated from coca leaves in the 19th century and was widely used until the early 20th century, when its addictive properties were discovered. ETHER, on the other hand, has been used since the 16th century and is still used today in some cases.
