The Ode to Joy Symphony, also known as Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, is a musical composition by Ludwig van Beethoven. It is the final complete symphony he composed and is considered one of the most popular and recognizable works of classical music. The ninth symphony is the only one of Beethoven's symphonies to include a chorus and vocal soloists in the finale. The symphony was first performed in Vienna in 1824 and has since become an anthem of joy and celebration.
