Native Oklahomans, also known as Native Americans, are the indigenous people of Oklahoma. They have a long history in the region, with many tribes having lived in the area for centuries. OTOS is an acronym for the Five Civilized Tribes, which includes the Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, and Seminole tribes. These tribes were forcibly relocated to Oklahoma during the Trail of Tears in the 1830s. Today, Native Oklahomans continue to be an important part of the state's culture and identity.
