ADMONITION is a strong warning or reprimand, CHIDE is to scold mildly, REBUKE is to criticize sharply, LECTURE is to talk formally and at length, DISCOURSE is to talk or write about a subject in detail, INSTRUCTION is an order or direction given, EXAMPLE is a model or pattern to be followed, EASE is to make something less difficult, and PLAN is a method of doing something. HOMILY is a sermon or moralizing DISCOURSE. All of these words can be used to describe a lesson in some way.
