DAEDALUS was a master craftsman and inventor who created the Labyrinth for King Minos of Crete. He also crafted wings made of feathers and wax for himself and his son Icarus, so they could escape the Labyrinth. Unfortunately, Icarus flew too close to the sun, melting the wax and causing him to fall into the sea.
