Daedalus is a MYTHICAL figure from Greek mythology who was renowned for his skill as an inventor and craftsman. He is best known for creating the LABYRINTH, a complex MAZE, for King Minos of Crete. He also created the bronze giant Talos to protect the island and crafted wings of feathers and wax for himself and his SON Icarus so they could fly away from Crete. Unfortunately, Icarus FLEW too close to the sun and his wings melted, causing him to fall into the sea. Daedalus is remembered for his ingenuity and his cautionary tale of hubris.
