The Mohawk River is a tributary of the Hudson River, located in upstate New York. It is the largest tributary of the Hudson, flowing for approximately 150 miles from its source in the Adirondack Mountains to its mouth at the Hudson near Cohoes. The Mohawk Valley, which the river flows through, was an important trade route for Native Americans and early settlers. The river is also an important source of hydroelectric power.
