Horus's mother is the Egyptian goddess Isis. She is one of the most important and popular deities of ancient Egypt, and was worshiped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. Isis was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans and the downtrodden, and she also listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats and rulers. She was the goddess of fertility and motherhood, and was often depicted with wings, holding a scepter and ankh.
