A hopscotch piece is a flat STONE, usually of a small size, used to mark a player's position on the hopscotch court. It is also known as a 'TAW' or 'toss STONE'. The STONE is thrown onto the court and must land within the marked squares. The player then hops over the STONE and continues the game.
