Homer's Epic Poem is the ILIAD, an ancient Greek epic poem attributed to Homer. It is one of the oldest surviving works of Western literature and tells the story of the ten-year siege of Troy by a coalition of Greek states. The poem is divided into 24 books and covers the events of the Trojan War from the abduction of Helen of Troy to the death of Hector. It is considered one of the greatest works of literature of all time.
