A holdup device is an object used to restrain a person or object. The two most common holdup devices are a BELT and a PROP. A BELT is a flexible band, usually made of leather or cloth, worn around the waist or other body part to hold up clothing or to secure items. A PROP is an object used to support or hold up another object, such as a stage PROP used in theater or a PROP gun used in film. Both belts and props can be used as holdup devices to restrain a person or object.
