Sid ABEL, a Hockey Hall of Famer, was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played for the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Black Hawks. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1969 and was a three-time Stanley Cup champion. He was also a four-time NHL All-Star and won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 1949. He was known for his skill as a playmaker and was nicknamed 'Old Bootnose'.
