Hildegarde Neff was a German actress who was active in the 1930s and 1940s. She is best known for her roles in films such as Mädchen in Uniform (1931), Der Kongress tanzt (1931) and Die Drei von der Tankstelle (1930). Neff was born in Berlin in 1906 and began her career as a stage actress before transitioning to film. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1932 for her role in Mädchen in Uniform. Neff retired from acting in 1945 and died in 2002.
