Highland wear is a traditional form of dress originating in Scotland. It includes TARTAN, kilts, plaids, and other items of clothing. TARTAN is a patterned cloth consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colors. Kilts are knee-length skirts with pleats at the back, traditionally worn by men. Plaids are similar to TARTANS but usually have only two colors. TARTANS are also patterns of cloth, but they are more complex than plaids and often feature multiple colors.
