Herbal tea, also known as TISANE (6 letters), is a beverage made from the infusion of herbs, spices, or other plant material in hot water. It does not contain any actual tea leaves, and is therefore caffeine-free. Herbal teas are often used for medicinal purposes, and can be made from a variety of plants, including chamomile, peppermint, ginger, and hibiscus. They are usually served hot, but can also be enjoyed cold.
