The term HE FLEW TOO NEAR THE SUN is a reference to the Greek myth of Icarus. Icarus was the son of Daedalus, a master craftsman who had been imprisoned in a tower by King Minos of Crete. To escape, Daedalus fashioned wings for himself and his son out of feathers and wax. He warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, but Icarus ignored his father's advice and flew too close, causing the wax to melt and Icarus to fall into the sea.
