Enos Slaughter was an American professional baseball player who played for 19 seasons in Major League Baseball. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1985 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He was a 10-time All-Star, won four World Series championships, and was a member of the St. Louis Cardinals' 'Gas House Gang' in the 1930s and 1940s. He was known for his aggressive base running and was nicknamed 'COUNTRY' for his rural upbringing.
