Aeschylus and Euripides were two of the most famous Greek tragedians. AESCHYLUS was born in 525 BC and is known as the father of tragedy. He wrote over 70 plays, including the Oresteia trilogy. Euripides was born in 480 BC and is known for his innovative use of language and structure in his plays. He wrote over 90 plays, including Medea and The Bacchae. Both AESCHYLUS and Euripides are considered to be among the greatest tragedians of all time.
