The former Yugoslavian President was Josip Broz Tito, commonly referred to as Tito. He was a Yugoslav revolutionary and statesman who led the Yugoslav Partisans during World War II and served as the leader of Yugoslavia from 1945 until his death in 1980. He was one of the founders of the Non-Aligned Movement and was viewed as a benevolent dictator.
