Ernie Nevers was a professional American football player and coach who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963. He played for the Duluth Eskimos and the Chicago Cardinals, and was the first professional football player to score 40 points in a single game. Nevers was also an All-American basketball player at Stanford University and a Major League Baseball pitcher with the St. Louis Browns. He is remembered as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
