Followers of Zetas are members of a fraternity and sorority organization founded in 1898 at Howard University. The organization is composed of undergraduate and alumni members, and its mission is to foster brotherhood and sisterhood among its members, as well as to promote academic excellence and provide service to the community. The term 'Zetas' is derived from the Greek letter 'zeta, ' which is the sixth letter of the Greek alphabet. The organization has chapters at universities and colleges across the United States and Canada.
