The term 'Empire Builder' refers to individuals who have created or expanded an empire. The INCA were an ancient South American civilization that built a large empire in the Andes Mountains. ALEXANDER the Great was a Macedonian king who conquered much of the known world in the 4th century BC, creating one of the largest empires of the ancient world. The ROMAN Empire was one of the most influential empires in history, lasting from 27 BC to 476 AD and encompassing much of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. All three of these individuals are considered to be Empire Builders.
