ANIL is a shrub native to India, the Caribbean and Central America, and its leaves are used to produce a blue-black dye. INDIGO is a plant native to India and East Asia, and its leaves are used to produce a deep blue dye. HENNA is a flowering plant native to North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, and its leaves are used to produce a reddish-brown dye.
