The Dutch currency consists of four different terms: GUILDER (7 letters), Stiver (6 letters), Euro (4 letters) and GULDEN (6 letters). The GUILDER was the official currency of the Netherlands from the 16th century until 2002, when it was replaced by the Euro. The Stiver was a Dutch coin used in the 17th and 18th centuries, and was worth one-eighth of a GUILDER. The Euro is the current currency of the Netherlands, and is used in many other countries in Europe. The GULDEN was a Dutch coin used in the 19th and 20th centuries, and was worth one-tenth of a GUILDER.
