Dutch artist Gerard Ter Borch was a Baroque painter who lived in the 17th century. He is known for his genre paintings, which depict scenes of everyday life. He was born in Zwolle, Netherlands in 1617 and died in Deventer in 1681. He was a member of the Dutch Golden Age school of painting and was highly regarded for his skill in depicting figures in interior scenes. His works are held in many museums around the world, including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
