Duane Reade is a Canadian musician and songwriter who is best known for his work with the band The Band. He was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1944 and began playing guitar at an early age. He joined The Band in 1967 and was a major contributor to their sound, writing many of their songs and playing lead guitar. He left the band in 1976 and went on to pursue a solo career. EDDY is a nickname given to him by his friends and family, which he has used as a stage name for some of his solo work.
