Dockside is a term used to describe the area around a body of water, such as a lake, river, or ocean, where ships and boats can dock. It is usually comprised of a QUAY (a wharf or landing stage) and a PIER (a raised platform extending out into the water). Quays and piers are often used for loading and unloading cargo, embarking and disembarking passengers, and other activities related to maritime transport.
