Dianne Wiest is an American actress who is best known for her role as the mother of Robin Williams' character in the 1996 comedy-drama film The Birdcage. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1986 film Hannah and Her Sisters. Wiest has also appeared in a number of other films, including Edward Scissorhands (1990), Bullets Over Broadway (1994), and Little Man Tate (1991).
