Edmond de Bergerac is a character from the 1897 play Cyrano de Bergerac by French dramatist Edmond Rostand. The play follows the story of Edmond, a swordsman and poet who is in love with the beautiful Roxane, but is too ashamed of his large nose to declare his love. He is helped by his friend Christian, played by Ferrer, who is also in love with Roxane. In the end, Roxane discovers Edmond's true identity and they are happily married. Mala is a minor character in the play, a young girl who is in love with Christian.
