Niels BOHR was a Danish physicist who made significant contributions to the field of atomic structure and quantum mechanics. He is best known for his model of the atom, which proposed that electrons orbit the nucleus in distinct energy levels. He also developed the principle of complementarity, which states that an object can be viewed as either a particle or a wave depending on the experiment being conducted. His work earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922.
