Daniel of the Old Frontier is a reference to the American pioneer and frontiersman Daniel Boone. He was born in 1734 in Pennsylvania and is best known for his exploration and settlement of what is now Kentucky, which was then part of Virginia. He was also a militia officer during the Revolutionary War and played a role in the founding of the state of Kentucky. Boone was an iconic figure in American history and his legacy continues to this day.
