The term Dada Artist refers to the German artist, poet, and sculptor, Hans Arp, also known as Jean Arp, and the German artist, poet, and writer, Max Ernst. Both were key figures in the Dada art movement, which began in Zurich, Switzerland in 1916. The movement was a reaction to the horrors of World War I and sought to challenge traditional artistic conventions. Arp and Ernst's works often featured abstract shapes and forms, as well as collage and assemblage techniques. Their works are now considered some of the most influential of the 20th century.
